Hi everyone! Do I have a story for you! We have a hummingbird feeder, and there is this 1 hummingbird that comes. I know it's the same one. One time, he got stuck on our back porch when I was at school, but he found the exit and escaped. Well, just an hour ago, we ate lunch, and we saw the same hummingbird stuck on our back porch. We thought he could escape, but then after we stopped eating, the winds started up, and the hummingbird was still there. So I went out to help it. I'll give you guys the picture later. She looked like he was going to die, but he was hanging onto the screen for dear life! So I rubbed his head, and he opened and closed his eyes. He finally let go, but when I grabbed him, he flew up on the screen! This happened a few times, but I finally got him out. He was so delicate and cute! The hummingbird was a
Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, but a female. Jesus helped me help one of his beautiful creations. Well, see you guys! Hallie

You rubbed his little head???? Too cool! I'll be watching for pictures soon young lady! Jessie is outside taking pictures as an assignment for possibly being chosen for the yearbook staff. She really wants to be a part of it. Art club starts this week too. Her creative side is still going strong. Hope you are enjoying your 7th grade. You kids are all getting so big, so fast. Wonder if your mama and me will be able to figure out a way to slow this down before it is too late... HA! Well, enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and have your camera ready for that little fella's return. Miss you kiddo. Love, Aunt B
Hallie, that was so neat! I can't imagine being able to get that close as they are so fast - we had several hummingbirds in TN and I enjoyed watching them - they are so cute and fiesty. Will see you Wed. and can't wait :) Love you lots, Grandma P

mackenzie♥
Arn't those the coolest birds? I used to love watching them at my Grandma Kemmerer's house. I can't believe you got to touch one, they are so tiny and so fast - very cool.
You are so calm and sweet Hallie that I'm not surprised you were able to help it - I'm glad he got out OK. I wonder what he sees on the porch that he wants to get at - are there FAKE flowers out there? Maybe he's trying to drink the nectar from a fake flower! "-)
That is SO cool! We have 3 little hummingbirds that come to our feeder. We have two males and one female and the two little males fight with each other and try to chase each other away from the feeder! They even perch on our porch to guard the feeder from each other! Ours are ruby-throated too.
I can't get over the fact that your hummingbird lands and stays there. I was going to mention that while we were at your house because when we lived in Ohio and had hummingbirds at our feeder they were flapping their wings almost the whole time they were feeding.
Keep up the good work. Love you so much. Grandma E
Hallie, That is really cool. I love hummingbirds. They are soo cute. When are you coming to visit? Patrick is on the couch sick today as he has a cold. He played hard in the cold rain at soccer games on Saturday and I think that is why he caught a cold. Come and see us.........
Hallie,
Don't you think September 14th is way to long ago? I'm waiting on an update from you! :)
Much Love,
Aunt Donna
